About the NRC Knowledge Center:
The University of Iowa, School of Social Work’s National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice is proud to announce The NRC Knowledge Center. The NRC Knowledge Center allows FDS students access to online training, testing and collaboration capabilities. The NRC Knowledge Center also comes fully equipped with administrative functions for Instructors, Subject Matter Experts and Program Administrators.
Training
NRC has now made the existing CD-ROM based Family Centered Assessment Tools
training available online. This highly interactive, self-paced training comes
complete with online resources and dictionary. [view

Testing
The NRC Knowledge Center will use an updated online testing capability. For
over a year, we have been administering the Family Development Specialist Certification
test online. Features of the test include: the random selection of test questions
by topic areas, a restricted amount of time allowed for the test, the ability
to take the test anywhere at any time, immediate feedback on scores to the participant
and to NRC, and the ability to analyze the validity of the test questions. [view

Job Listings
The Job Listing advertises Family Development job opportunities for all Students
in the Family Development program. Students can sort through job opportunities
by geographic area and view job descriptions and salary information. [view

Bulletin Board
The Bulletin Board provides Family Development Specialists (FDS) students, instructors,
and/or subject matter experts a means for conducting discussion threads on family
development or other related topics. The bulletin board has multiple forums
where students can ask for assistance and advice. While another forum provides
Instructors the means to share files among all program participants. This is
ideal for instructors sharing instructions, templates, and homework. Instructors
or Subject Matter experts may provide additional discussion topics or provide
answers to questions. [view
